"You can always tell a Suffragette... her hat's not on straight!" - Edwardian anti-suffragist

From hobble skirts to flapper fashion, the history of the fight for the vote are made vivid through beautiful costumes and lively readings from the Edwardian age and the 1920s - a time of extraordinary political changes and remarkable personal histories.

We dress a suffragist from 1903 then view the remarkable changes over the next 25 years, before dressing a 'flapper' from 1928 - the year women are finally able to vote on the same terms as men.

With stirring stories of daring stunts and ju-jitsu suffragettes, this talk will leave you wanting to march on Westminster!
